A UNIQUE DISCOVERY

Rums from Nicaragua are famed for their elegance. Smooth. Layered. Refined.

Cask No. 253, Rotation Z04/3944, is a 21-year-old expression that shows this at its best.

Soft tropical fruit, candied sweetness and floral hints of violet.

The silky palate of ripe banana and sweet oak lingers long after your last sip.

Distilled in 2004 at the family-owned Compañía Licorera de Nicaragua.

The rum matured for nine years in the tropical heat, sealed in American Oak ex-Bourbon with traditional plantain leaves.

Transferred to the UK in 2013, it rested for another twelve years in a cooler climate before being bottled by House of Rum in 2025.

Uncompromising at 58.8% ABV and with no sugar or additives.

Just 220 bottles were produced — capturing both the elegance of Nicaragua and the rarity that defines House of Rum.

DISTILLERY

The Compañía Licorera de Nicaragua distillery’s humble roots date back to 1890.

Located in the small town of Chichigalpa near the west coast of Nicaragua at the base of the San Cristóbal Volcano, surrounded by sugarcane plantations which thrive in the tropical wet and dry climate of the region.

The 125 year old distillery has been family-owned for five generations and it prides itself on sustainable practices, including carbon-neutral production and Fair Trade certification.

The distillery has gained international recognition for its high-quality, naturally aged rums with no sugar added, crafted using volcanic-filtered water, the most famous being Flor de Caña.
