A UNIQUE DISCOVERY

Cask number 219 rotation number V29056-2 is a remarkable spirit, boasting the rich heritage of Worthy Park Distillery and the authentic Jamaican rum-making tradition. The combination of estate-grown sugar cane, native yeast, and traditional production methods speaks to a commitment to quality and authenticity that spans centuries.

The dual aging process, first in ex-Bourbon casks in Jamaica, followed by further maturation in ex-Rum casks in the UK, contributes to the complexity and depth of flavour in this rum. The tropical aging in Jamaica imparts the initial character, while the continental aging in the UK allowed for additional interaction with the wood.

The result is a rum with layers of flavour, showcasing the funky Jamaican profile along with nuanced notes from the wood and aging process. Bottled by House of Rum in 2023, it's a testament to collaboration and expertise in the world of rum production.

DISTILLERY

Worthy Park Estate is nestled in the heart of Lluidas Vale, shielded by mountain ranges and surrounded by fertile terrain where sugarcane thrives. Sugarcane cultivation has persisted uninterrupted at Worthy Park since 1720, while the first recorded instance of rum production occurred in 1741. Worthy Park's rum production begins with molasses extracted from their own sugar factory, and their fermentation process utilises proprietary native yeast cultivated from their sugar cane crop. The liquid is then distilled using the traditional Jamaican pot-still distillation method
