A UNIQUE DISCOVERY

We feel incredibly lucky and privileged to have sourced this rare cask from arguably the world’s most prestigious distillery, Foursquare in Barbados, the birthplace of Rum. (possibly as far back as the 1650’s)

Rums from Barbados, produced in both pot and column stills are world renowned for being complex and characterful and a reflection of the terroir of the island.

This incredible Rum was distilled in 2010 and placed into an ex-Bourbon Whiskey cask. Its first five years were spent tropically ageing in the parish of Saint Philips, Barbados in the Eastern Caribbean before being shipped across the Atlantic to the UK where the Rum was re-filled into an ex-Scotch Whisky cask for a further eight years of continental ageing before being bottled by House of Rum in 2023.

DISTILLERY

Situated in Barbados' south-eastern parish of Saint Philip, the Foursquare Rum Distillery finds its home on the grounds of an old sugar plantation dating back to around 1720. In 1996, the Seale family took the initiative to reopen the distillery, with Richard Seale, the 4th Generation Blender & Distiller of R.L. Seale & Co., currently overseeing the distilling operations and blending. Over the past decade, Foursquare has become one of the world’s most revered and sought after rum producers.
