A UNIQUE DISCOVERY

We have unearthed a truly magnificent artisan rum with Cask No. 1, Rotation number R01917.

This rum comes from the family-owned and operated distillery of Oliver y Oliver in Santo Domingo on the Dominican Republic’s south coast.

The island's rich history of sugar cane production dates back to Christopher Columbus. Rum making soon followed.

Expect this Dominican Republic Rum to be sophisticated and smooth with tones of crème brulee, vanilla and a delicate buttery finish.

The rich, dark colour of this Rum is a reflection of the many years it has spent maturing in wood. Originally placed into American Oak, ex-Bourbon casks, this Rum stayed in the Dominican Republic for eight years.

It was aged in the warm, humid Caribbean climate. Then, it was shipped to the cooler UK.

There, it was re-casked into an American Oak that once held rum cask for further maturation, and then bottled by House of Rum in 2023.

DISTILLERY

Originating in Havana, Cuba, Oliver y Oliver's story traces its origins to the settlement of Juanillo Oliver, the forefather of the Oliver family.

Following the Cuban revolution, the family sought refuge in Santo Domingo, and in 1997, Oliver y Oliver began their rum trading operations.

With a distinct focus on crafting high-end rums that draw from both their Cuban roots and the Dominican Republic's rich rum-making heritage, the company has gained renown for its exceptional rum blends.

Today, Oliver y Oliver boasts a diverse range of rums, including the prestigious brands Opthimus, Quorhum, and Punta Cana.
