STAVES & GLENCAIRN CRYSTAL GLASSES

Oak Staves

Our staves are painstakingly hand-picked from old oak cask stocks to ensure we have the perfect size, age, patina and character. This process alone can take up to 8 hours. Time well spent as these staves will be reborn into the beautiful hand crafted masterpieces you will receive.

The next step is to take them to the workshop where they are cured for 7 days before being gently cleaned and sanded, taking extra care to retain the character of the oak.

The staves are marked and three holes are drilled to ensure a perfect fit for the Glencairn tasting glasses we have chosen to hold our rare House of Rum expressions.

The staves are then etched with the House of Rum logo using a precision CO2 laser etcher.

Once back on the workbench the stave is lightly stained by hand and then sealed before infilling with etching.

The stave is then sanded again followed by re-staining, a reseal and finished with high quality finishing products before its final hand buffing for a stunning lustre and glow.

Crystal Glasses

We chose the Glencairn crystal tasting glass as in our opinion it is the gold standard for tasting premium spirits such as the House of Rum single cask collection.

The shape of this nosing glass is designed to help you appreciate the rums colour, aroma and taste.

The wide crystal bowl allows you to clearly see the colour of the rum.

The tapered mouth captures more of the aroma really concentrating the notes on the nose.

The shape is really comfortable to hold and for those of you who like to swirl your rum to mix with oxygen and release aromas within the rum.

And to complete the beauty of the glasses we have the House of Rum logo etched onto each one.
