OLIVER & OLIVER

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

Oliver & Oliver International, Inc. is a renowned rum distillery that boasts a rich history spanning over a century. Founded in Cuba in the late 19th century by Juanillo Oliver, the company has evolved through generations, crafting premium rums with a dedication to tradition and quality.

Juanillo Oliver's journey began in the sugar cane fields of Cuba, where he cultivated a deep appreciation for the craftsmanship involved in rum production. Harnessing his expertise, he established his own distillery, laying the foundation for what would become a legacy in the world of rum.

In the early years, Oliver & Oliver established itself as a small-scale producer, focusing on traditional methods and locally sourced ingredients. Their rums quickly gained recognition for their exceptional quality and unique flavour profiles, capturing the essence of Cuba's rich rum-making heritage.

As the decades passed, Oliver & Oliver expanded its reach, exporting its premium rums to markets around the world. With each generation, the company embraced innovation while honouring its roots, introducing new techniques and flavour profiles while remaining true to the traditional art of rum-making.

In the 21st century, Oliver & Oliver International, Inc. has emerged as a global leader in the rum industry, known for its diverse portfolio of premium brands, including the highly acclaimed Ron Presidente, Opthimus, and Cubaney rums. Their products have garnered numerous awards and accolades, earning recognition for their exceptional quality and craftsmanship.

Today, Oliver & Oliver continues to uphold its commitment to excellence, blending time-honoured traditions with modern innovation to create rums of unparalleled distinction. With a legacy spanning generation and a dedication to quality that remains unwavering, the company stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of rum-making craftsmanship.

However, the company faced challenges with the political upheavals in Cuba during the mid-20th century. With the rise of Fidel Castro's regime and the subsequent nationalization of industries, including rum production, Oliver & Oliver was forced to adapt. In the 1960s, amidst the turmoil, the Oliver family made the difficult decision to leave Cuba, taking with them their expertise and passion for rum-making.

Settling in the Dominican Republic, the Oliver family revitalized their distillery, infusing it with the same commitment to craftsmanship that had defined their operation in Cuba. Drawing upon the Dominican Republic's abundant sugar cane fields and favourable climate, they continued to produce exceptional rums, maintaining the legacy of their Cuban heritage
